JPEG is a joint working group of the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) which contributes to creating the still images coding standards. The word “Joint” in JPEG does not refer to the joint efforts of ISO and IEC, but to the fact that the JPEG activities are the result of an additional collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The 77th JPEG meeting will be held in Macau during 21st to 27 October 2017. The JPEG professionals from all over the world will meet together in Macau, a mixed-culture city with the name of "East Las Vegas".
